Description
In the vast grasslands of Amboseli National Park, I was watching a beautiful herd of elephants, the largest herd I had ever seen – there must have been at least 70 elephants. It was beautiful to watch them walk toward me and eventually pass me by. While I watched, I noticed a huge bull in the distance, making his way towards the herd. Just him, alone, in the vastest of unremarkable, yet beautiful landscapes. The setting, the solitude, the stuff that was going on in my personal life – it all converged in this beautiful moment and reminded me of a Wordsworth poem I read as a child. And with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face I took this photograph of a moment which stayed with me long after I could see it no more.
