Tranquility

Description

On one of the hottest summer days of 2024, where the temperatures were reaching 47 degrees centigrade, on a full day safari in Bandhavgarh National Park, I came across this huge male tiger, D 1, one of the largest male tigers in the area, from a famed lineage, beating the heat in his private pool. I watched in wonder as the milky white water engulfed him. He stared at me for a couple of minutes and after he was sure that I meant him no harm, he decided to take a nap in the water. I find this picture to be one of the more peaceful wildlife images I have ever taken.
